Showing our volunteers how much we appreciate them
There is a passionate, dedicated group of volunteers that invest their energy and time at our organisation, to help us create better outcomes for disadvantaged people.
Some are newbies and some have been supporting our operations for decades. We think these people are community heroes one and all, and from time to time we like to let them know how much we appreciate their valuable contributions.
To say thanks and to prepare for National Volunteer Week next week, we recently invited our volunteers to a special breakfast at our community hub in Lismore. We enjoyed hot beverages, cakes, snacks, chats and stories. We were also able to award them with special Volunteering Australia medals of honour, to let them know just how special they are.

The volunteers who made it to breakfast are good sorts and didn’t mind us taking an early morning snap while they drank their cuppas. Pictured here left to right and back to front: Sue, Bill, Arwen Edith, Susan, Peter and Dianne.

Here is the Volunteering Australia medal we awarded to our volunteers, to show them how much we appreciate their contributions.
The group pictured above is only a small slice of our volunteer pie. There were many people that couldn’t make it to breakfast this week. So, to those that came along and those that couldn’t make it, one and all, we say a big thank you.
