Cart Café
Coffee with a conscience
Our Cart Café is a social enterprise mobile café service that sells delicious coffee, refreshing drinks and tasty food.
Our mobile carts are available for events throughout the Northern Rivers region, travelling throughout the area to service different communities and events. We often appear at Friends of the Koalas community events, Lismore Recycle Markets, National Tree Day celebrations and Lismore Friendship Festival.
It’s a cafe
Our coffee is delicious, organic, fair-trade and locally roasted coffee from Bun Coffee, Byron Bay. We sell a range of teas and hot beverages, and can provide fresh fruit frappes and milkshakes on request. We also sell delicious handmade chocolate brownies, other sweet treats and yummy savoury snacks.
It’s a social enterprise
Our Cart Café makes a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged people. Through the café, we provide paid traineeships, work experience and employment pathways for disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the Northern Rivers region. It’s coffee with a conscience!
How we help people and communities
The Cart Café is truly coffee with a conscience. We offer more than just a café service. By buying a coffee from us or booking a coffee cart for your event, you are actively helping your community in many ways:
- Supporting disadvantaged people. Our baristas and trainees earn a wage from the business, supporting them out of financial disadvantage and creating financial stability.
- Providing valuable experience. Our participation in local events and festivals, catering for large volumes of customers in vibrant and diverse environments, provides valuable life and work experience for our trainees. This enables them to grow their careers and their futures.
- Part of Community Gateway. The Cart Café is owned and operated by Community Gateway, which provides many other welfare support and community building services to people throughout the Northern Rivers region. Supporting our café enables Community Gateway to support more people.
- Driving local business growth. We source our ingredients, stock and infrastructure from local businesses within the Northern Rivers region. Supporting us means supporting our regional economy.
- Adding value to your community. Supporting our cafés means that we are able to service smaller community-driven events throughout the Northern Rivers region.
