Community Visitors Scheme Project Officer, SCHCADS level 4

  • Permanent part time role, 28 hours per week
  • Based in Lismore NSW
  • SCHCADS Award level 4 + salary packaging

The CVS Project Officer is responsible for maintaining and developing the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) which links volunteers with aged people living in aged care facilities or in their home under a home care package.

Working within a community development framework, the CVS Project Officer will be responsible for implementing and following best practice to build and foster the capacity for CVS volunteering.

This role will be responsible for the recruitment, supervision, encouragement and training of volunteers; maintaining accurate records regarding volunteers and producing appropriate reporting.

Selection criteria

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or a certificate qualification in the social and community services field with substantial years of relevant experience in a community development role
  • Sound knowledge of the aged care sector gained though experience, training or education
  • Demonstrated ability to set outcomes and work methods
  • Sound skills in supervising and/or mentoring volunteers and/or staff.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills including networking, stakeholder engagement, research and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated computing ability including the use of Microsoft and database programs

Additional requirements

  • A current NSW Drivers licence and willingness to travel
  • A National criminal record check
  • Evidence of full COVID vaccination
  • Evidence of flu vaccination
