Free training to help you prepare for the next disaster
Summer is just around the corner. In Northern NSW, the risk of bushfire and flood increases enormously from now until April. While it’s highly unlikely, there’s always a small chance that we could face yet another natural disaster this summer.
Preparation is key to minimising the damage that natural disasters can make. NSW Government has some useful guides on how to prepare for a natural disaster here.
When disasters hit our region, we know that the first responders are locals, helping locals. And because we’re here to support locals, we’re offering free training to help our first responders meet the next disaster with important skills and know-how.
Our special free Tomorrow Ready disaster training can be provided face to face or online, and includes topics such as:
- Mental Health First Aid
- Supporting vulnerable people
- Teamwork and leadership
- Self care
- Health and safety
- Effective communication
- Disaster resilience
Tomorrow Ready is intended to upskill individuals, who can then take their learning out into their communities and volunteer organisations in readiness for the next disaster. Read more about Tomorrow Ready here.
So what are you waiting for? Skill up and get prepared now, so that when disaster hits we can help each other to come through it together, and make our communities stronger than ever.
