You are invited to the Financial Inclusion Forum for 2019

11 Jul, 2019

The need for financial inclusion

Financial exclusion causes and compounds financial disadvantage. It can lead to poverty and homelessness, amplified mental health problems, continued welfare dependence, remaining in a violent relationship, poorer educational outcomes for children and increased law breaking or criminal offences.

To address the negative consequences of financial exclusion to individual people, their communities and our economy, we have partnered with NSW Financial Inclusion Network and Centre for Social Impact to present the Financial Inclusion Forum for 2019.

About this forum

The forum will convene a diverse audience of stakeholders concerned with financial inclusion and financial resilience. It will focus and expand conversation around two key building blocks of financial resilience – social capital and economic resources.

13 August 2019
8:30am-4:30pm
University of New South Wales City Campus
Level 6, 1 O’Connell Street, Sydney 2000
Attendance fee $50 per person (+GST)

To help us navigate these topics, our guest speakers include:

In addition to our guest speakers, the forum will deliver two dedicated workshops about social capital and economic resources. These workshops aim to extend our knowledge and understanding of financial exclusion, identify innovative solutions and discuss how these solutions can be applied as a cross-sector approach.

This is also a great opportunity to meet, connect and reconnect with the people invested in a future of financial inclusion and resilience. We will strengthen our own connections, share stories, experiences and best practices.

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

The Financial Inclusion Forum 2019 is a prelude to the Financial Inclusion Conference IV – Roads To Resilience, to be held in Sydney 18 and 19 of March 2020 in Sydney.
