It’s official – excellent service from Community Gateway
On the 13th of September, people from all across the community sector in our region gathered together in Ballina to participate in the annual Momentum Awards. Formerly known as the 3SA (or Third Sector Australia) Awards, they celebrate the hard work, dedication and initiative of people working in the community sector, to create better outcomes for our people in our communities.
We were invited to attend the Momentum Awards last month and it’s a good job we did. We were awarded “Excellence in Service” for our work. Our amazing Helping Hands case worker Jen Parker was at the event to represent Community Gateway and you can see her here with the wonderful flowers that we were awarded. Says Jen,
“It’s a wonderful feeling to have the recognition of your peers for hard work you’ve undertaken and successes you’ve made. The award is for everyone I work with and I’m proud to accept it on their behalf. We all put so much energy into creating better outcomes for the most vulnerable people in our community, and this kind of recognition helps us to keep going and not be disheartened. Thanks Momentum!”
That’s a great point. We all spend a lot of energy trying to create positive outcomes for others that we often don’t stop to acknowledge our own achievements. This award is a good reminder to us at Community Gateway of what we’re doing right. In passing that on, we invite you to consider what you’re doing that’s worth celebrating, whether anyone else knows about it or not.
