About Out of School Hours Care (OOSH)

Community Gateway OOSH (formerly Rainbow Region Kids) delivers enriching, fun and inclusive before school, after school and vacation care in Northern NSW. We are a child safe organisation.

Our values & philosophy

Empowering children through play, inclusion and community.

We believe in the power of play to foster initiative and learning. Our safe and inclusive environment provides a comfortable foundation for children to express themselves creatively, grow socially and learn new skills.

OOSH services operate across multiple locations throughout the Northern Rivers region of NSW.

Family oriented

We see our service as an extension of your family, creating a homely atmosphere where every child truly belongs. Our team provides a safe, secure space for children to grow socially, be curious and express themselves fully.

Play as learning

We value play as an essential tool for initiative and learning. Our educators are dedicated to nurturing the individual skills, personal growth, and unique talents of every child in our care.

Inclusive care

We celebrate diversity and respond to children’s unique circumstances. By building strong partnerships with families and communities, we ensure our services remain responsive, supportive, and shaped by the people we serve.

what we do

Fostering growth through play and discovery.

OOSH provides a balance of structured and unstructured play designed to support every child’s social and emotional development. Our educators lead engaging programs that encourage initiative and celebrate the unique talents and emerging skills of the children in our care.

We provide an enriching environment where children are supported to explore their interests through a diverse range of activities.

Our programs include a mix of:

  • Traditional art and crafts
  • Group games and challenges
  • Sports and physical play
  • Drama, music and expressive arts
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Exploration of Australian nature and culture
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) activities
