What you need to know.

What does trauma-informed care mean?

Trauma-informed care is centred on doing no harm and providing counselling that is delivered at a safe, supportive pace. It seeks to avoid re-traumatisation and does not place blame on individuals for behaviours that may be linked to trauma. Instead, it recognises that trauma can affect people in complex and varied ways, including their emotions, behaviours and relationships with others.

How long does counselling go for?

Support is ongoing, with no fixed time limits, so we can work together for as long as you or your child/adolescent requires.

I’m a provider. Can I refer someone?

Yes. Please use our online referral form to refer to someone to our trauma counselling service.
