Coffee with a conscience
The Cart Café is a quality mobile coffee cart selling organic, fair trade and locally roasted coffee from Bun Coffee, Byron Bay. We also sell fresh fruit frappes, milkshakes and delicious handmade slices.
The Cart Café is a social enterprise, which provides real employment to disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the community. We operate on a daily basis at Lismore to provide formal training. To do not receive any Government funding for this enterprise so rely on our local customers and events from the Community to ensure sustainably of the program.
The Cart Café is truly ‘Coffee with a Conscience’. We offer you more than just coffee. By booking the coffee cart you can help the community in so many ways;
- To raise funds – in line with our goal as an organization we pay our baristas and trainees a wage. We aim to raise funding through sales that will help to maintain this program throughout the coming year. Building funds for this project also allows us to service smaller community driven events in the Northern Rivers. For example: Friends of the Koalas community events, National Tree Day, Lismore Friendship Festival, & Lismore Recycle Markets.
- To provide valuable experience – operation of the Cart Café at events and festivals will provide valuable experience to our trainees, catering for a large volume of customers in a vibrant and diverse environment will develop our trainees’ skills and provide an impressive experience for their future resumes. Exposure to the ethos and values of events and festival will positively affect our staff opening them to the possibilities in the Events, Hospitality and Tourism industries.
- To Raise Awareness – Events and festivals are a wonderful platform through which we can spread the word of our program to a wide spectrum of the public.
- To support your local businesses – by choosing to source our ingredients, stock and infrastructure from businesses within our local shires.
