Online training sessions from The Centre for Volunteering

To support organisations and groups that want to work with volunteers better, The Centre for Volunteering is delivering five free hour-long online training sessions over the next five months.

28 April 12:30pm
Fostering an Inclusive and Diverse Workplace
Creating an inclusive and diverse workplace can have many benefits for your organisation, including opening a wider pool of potential volunteers. We will explore inclusion and diversity and provide tips on fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.

26 May 12:30pm
Rethinking Volunteer Recruitment
Attracting volunteers has been identified as a core challenge for many Volunteer-Involving Organisations, especially with the changes imposed by COVID-19. This session will help you“think outside the box” to grow your volunteer workforce, bring in a new range of skills and improve volunteer retention.

23 June 12:30pm
Addressing Volunteer Motivations through Virtual Volunteering
If COVID has taught us one thing, it’s that traditional volunteer program design has left us open to disruption, and that these programs do not work for everyone. We will explore how you can meet volunteer motivations by introducing Virtual Volunteering into your volunteer programs.

21 July 12:30pm
Embracing Youth Volunteering
With volunteer programs constantly evolving and many experienced volunteers stepping down, it is time to embrace the next generation of volunteers. In this session we will explore what embracing youth volunteering involves, look at potential challenges, and discuss considerations for adapting your volunteer programs.

25 August 12:30pm
National Police Checks
A National Police Check is often required when applying for volunteer positions. NSW Police provides a service to private and NSW Government Organisations to register and conduct National Police Checks through a secure online portal. Join us for information about getting a discounted rate through The Centre for Volunteering.
